LETTERS
Joshua Stuwart and Marcia
Baczynski’s letter to the editor
(Sept. 22) was, well, ridiculous.
They looked at a single crime-
watch on the Greeks’ busiest week
of the year and deduced that one-
third of alcohol-related incidents
occur on Greek property.
What’s wrong with this? Well:
Anyone who’s taken a sociol-
ogy or psychology class or at least
has common sense knows that a
sample of 10 incidents cannot be
used to represent a 30,000 mem-
ber student body.
Fraternity houses are about
the only places on campus you
can drink legally.
Where else are the arrests
gonna be?
Fraternity houses receive
undue attention because of off-
base letters like Mr. Stewart and
Ms. Baczynski’s, so that’s where
the focus is.
A Red and Black writer finally
gave fraternities the benefit of the
doubt (Sept. 17), and she was
right.
