By on November 7, 2002

The Student Government Association, along with the Vote for America organization, has named Alpha Omicron Pi as the winner of its pledge to vote contest.

“During the fall campaign, we had a contest to see which sorority could get the most people pledged to vote through the Vote for America program,” said Brendan Murphy, SGA External Affairs chairman and a sophomore from Forsyth County.

Allison Scott, a sophomore from Joplin, Mo., accepted the award on behalf of the sorority.

As of press time, Scott could not be reached for comment.

Murphy said SGA and VFA offered the contest to area fraternities, but the offers were not accepted.
