It’s a great time to be a fan

Braves win! Braves win! Braves win!
Oh wait, it’s just the first round. But what a game that was, and that phrase never gets old. The Braves take game two in 11 innings to tie the series up going to Houston.
Raffy goes from the courtroom Tuesday morning on his second DUI charge to the hero for the city of Atlanta two days later. Only in America — if you happen to be a professional baseball player and make millions of dollars.
Someone better tell Furcal to stay away from the champagne.
Playoff baseball. College football. The NFL. How can you not love this time of year?
There are so many great games this Saturday — six games between teams in the top 25 — I’m tempted to stay home and watch them all instead of going to San-ford. On second thought, HELL NO!
No. 17 Tennessee at No. 3 Georgia (by 13) — 3:30, CBS:
Following the Bulldogs’ dismantling of LSU on Saturday, this pick isn’t really that tough. The offense finally woke up, and the defense is up there with the best in the nation.
And if that wasn’t enough, Tennessee’s quarterbacks have never played in an away game. What a perfect place to start.
A win for the Bulldogs this weekend is a must for all of you planing to make a trip to Atlanta in December. So Sanford better be even louder than it was last week.
Georgia 38, Tennessee 17
No. 2 Oklahoma (by 7) at No. 5 Texas in Dallas — noon, ABC:
As much as I would like Mack Brown and the Longhorns to beat Oklahoma, I have to be realistic with this stuff.
Texas, as good as they’re always cracked up to be, hasn’t beat the Sooners in ages. Why would this time be any different? It won’t, and it probably won’t even be close.
Oklahoma 35, Texas 24
No. 7 California at No. 1 USC (by 7.5) — 3:30, ABC regional:
If there’s one thing I hate more than Mark May, it’s when ABC airs four huge games at the same time, and we get stuck with a pathetic ACC game. Such is the case Saturday.
The Trojans’ lone loss last season came against Cal, and I don’t think they’ve forgotten.
Or maybe they have. The Bears find a way to win again in what will likely decide the Pac-10 conference winner.
California 34, USC 31
Other Games of Interest:
No. 15 Wisconsin at No. 18 Ohio State (by 3) — 3:30, ABC regional:
Ohio State 17, Wisconsin 16
No. 24 LSU at No. 12 Florida (by 3.5) — 7:45, ESPN:
LSU 34, Florida 29
No. 13 Minnesota at No. 14 Michigan (by 3.5) — noon, ESPN:
Michigan 31, Minnesota 23
