Classic film gets outdoor screening

The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication will present an outdoor screening of the 1944 comedy/thriller “Arsenic and Old Lace” at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

The movie is free and open to the public. It will be shown on the front lawn of the Journalism building at the corner of Baldwin Street and Sanford Drive.

Picnics are welcome. In the event of rain, the movie will be cancelled.

Annual plant sale opens this weekend

The Horticulture Club presents its annual fall plant sale today, running through Sunday.

Items for sale include annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees and herbs.

Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The sale is located on Riverbend Road at the University greenhouses.

Speaker discusses woman’s journey

Valerie Aranda, a muralist and assistant professor of art at Georgia College and State University, will present a lecture today as part of the Friday Speaker Series.

The lecture, titled “Mi Camino” (My path) is sponsored by the Institute for Women’s Studies.

The lecture will take place 12:20 to 1:10 p.m. in Room 250 of the Student Learning Center.

Dawgs After Dark does Homecoming

A Homecoming edition of Dawgs After Dark will take place at 10 p.m. tonight at the Tate Student Center.

The event is free with a valid UGACard and $5 for nonstudents.
