ID numbers changing
The University has begun a process to replace Social Security numbers as the primary source of identification for students, faculty and employees.
A task force has been formed, and though no timeline has been set for implementing the new ID numbers, the changeover will take at least one year.
Georgia law does not forbid using Social Security numbers for identification, but incidents at other universities and a Board of Regents request prompted the University to initiate the change.
