Go out like a celebrity at Oscar Night
Roll out the red carpet – the Oscars are in Athens.
Sunday, AIDS Athens is holding its second annual Oscar Night at the Classic Center, where guests will be able to watch the awards show and experience them.
“We make it feel like you're the star-the spotlight is on you,” said Art Ordoqui, executive director of AIDS Athens.
There will be a red carpet, paparazzi and a Hollywood sign.
Milton Leathers will be the “Joan Rivers” of the event, interviewing guests.
Inside there will be a casino, a big screen TV, a dessert bar and a wheel of fortune.

Themed mystery prizes will be given away to winners of the games.
“There's something for everyone,” Ordoqui said.
Ordoqui said last year people came as characters from movies such as “Ocean's Twelve,” “Titanic,” and “Romy and Michele's High School Reunion.”
“I was surprised to see some of the creative costumes,” Ordoqui said.
Last year's event was attended by 250 people and raised $17,000 dollars for the non-profit organization, which provides client services and AIDS prevention and education for the Athens community.
Aiman Al-Sheikh, a graduate student from Saudi Arabia, is going for the second time this year to support the cause.
“It's become a global epidemic,” he said. “The only way to change it will be if more people educate themselves and join in the fight against this disease.”
Hilary Carruthers, a graduate student from Marietta and an intern at AIDS Athens, will be attending the event for the first time.
“I know it's going to be a great, new experience,” she said. “I'm excited to see everyone come out.”
The price of admission is a donation, and additional donations can be made to purchase “Oscar money” that can be used for the various attractions inside.
Alcohol will be provided.
