This week’s cover art resulted from a variety of ideas. There are mostly musical events scheduled this week, so that obviously had to be part of the cover. Wilco and G. Love are popular acts playing at big venues, so it was the perfect combination.

“(Lyndsay Hoban, design editor and I) wanted to do a poster-type layout to advertise the two shows, putting them side by side to suggest a kind of battle of the bands scenario since the two are playing on the same night at about the same time,” cover designer Jenni Mayberry said.

She said she looked up images of different “WANTED” posters for inspiration. Then she used Photoshop to create the poster, using pictures the bands’ publicists e-mailed to The Red & Black.
