I know that this was in previous articles so I just don't understand how fans can still be so rude to our own players. "Booing" a player and then cheering when he walks off the field is an embarrassment. It would be great if you could give the team support whether they win or lose. Try to get it together during the big game this week because it really would be embarrassing if this were to happen on national TV.

I was extremely disappointed in some of the UGA football fans on Saturday. In the middle of the game, after Mohamed Massaquoi dropped a pass, many students booed him. This was bad enough, but a few seconds later, the same students applauded when Massaquoi ran off the field before the next play. The "fans" that did this shouldn't bother showing up to the rest of the games. A true fan does not boo his or her own team, and her or she certainly doesn’t single out a specific player to harass. Most people agree that our team is not playing up to its potential. However, booing specific players does not fix anything. It just makes those players feel even more pressure to perform and lowers team morale. It’s called the “home team advantage” for a reason _” we need to support the team and encourage them. Our football team is facing enough adversity right now; the last thing they need is un-sportsmanlike conduct from their own fans!

To Mohamed Massaquoi and really all of the other UGA Bulldogs, I'm a fourth year student here at the university, but I feel that I can speak for all of the real Bulldog fans out there. I'm sorry. I apologize for the fact that you had to hear cheering when you were called to the sideline near game's end. I've seen a lot of pathetic things here the past three years, but I don't think that I've ever been more embarrassed to be in the stands. I know that you're on that field for a reason and that nobody in the stands could even hope to get on that field and to catch a ball from Stafford. Everyone has their bad days, but don't worry you'll get through it. Remember any real fans out there are still behind you, no matter what, we're not along for the ride like some others who only cheer for the 'Dogs because this happens to be where they ended up and actually don't know any more than my 7 year old niece about football. Keep working hard and remember you are the one making a difference on the field, you have the final say.
Thanks.
