Students deserve better student seats
I have been attending women’s basketball games for the last two and a half years and I am appalled at the way the students were treated at Sunday’s game against Tennessee.
The students were confined to a few sections in the upperdeck. My friends and I had to sit two rows from the top even though we got to the game an hour and a half early while seats below us in the “student section” were sold to non-students.
We have been trying to get a student section at the games for the last year and a half and it seems that the University has forgotten about the students with their new ticket policy.

Congress items will affect students
What can you get done in 100 hours? Quite a bit apparently, as House and Senate Democrats are making good on their “100 Hour” initiative to pass several key items in their agenda in the first 100 hours of this congressional session.
Why should you care? Wednesday the House is voting on a measure to cut the interest rate on federal student loans in half from their current 6.8 percent to 3.4 percent over a five year period.
It is virtually assured to pass the House, but getting it through the Senate is going to be harder.
What can you do? Write to your congressman – either Saxby Chambliss or Johnny Isakson by going to senate.gov and finding their contact info.
Making sure they are on your side may take 10 minutes, but compared to 100 hours it seems reasonable.
Oh yeah, you will save money too. Got to love that.

SGA needs work, not abolishment
I just wanted to say that I do not agree that the SGA should be abolished. I do think it needs a major overhaul.
I e-mailed two SGA board members, including the president, about the location of the Presidential debate scheduled for Wednesday night.
The UGA master calendar lists it as TBA and the debate is not listed on the SGA calendar.
The e-mails to the president and board member have gone unanswered.
This is not what I expect from my elected representatives. The SGA is very important.
It needs help, but we cannot lose our voice to the administration by removing it from campus.
