Offense outperforms defense at scrimmage
The Georgia football team held their last spring scrimmage before the G-Day game. The scrimmage was held in Sanford Stadium and lasted just under two hours on Monday.
According to head coach Mark Richt, the offense got the best of the defense on Monday, a rarity for scrimmages.
Richt even went as far to say it might have been the best offensive scrimmage he’s seen since being at Georgia.
He was pleased with the play of the offensive line, saying they made the difference in helping to protect the quarterbacks.
“They’re doing as good or better than I thought they would be by now,” said Richt about the offensive line.
Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Chris Davis attributed Friday’s practice to the success of the line’s play.
“Friday we had a pretty rough practice and got punished for it. So I think that opened our eyes and made us play harder and smarter,” Davis said.
There were many big plays on offense including a touchdown pass from quarterback Blake Barnes to receiver Kenneth Harris.
On defense, Richt said senior linebacker Brandon Miller was continuing to have a good spring after switching to middle linebacker.
