A University graduate student considered a threat to himself or others based on the statements of a faculty member and who later confronted University police with a handgun, has bonded from jail.

Brandon Ginyard, 27, was granted $10,000 bond Wednesday by a Clarke County Superior Court judge on the condition he leave the state and live at his father’s home outside Los Angeles, get mental health counseling and wear an ankle monitor.

Ginyard was denied bond last month because a Clarke County judge worried about the safety of the University’s graduation ceremony.

Ginyard is barred from having firearms and can not contact the University business school administrator or others at the University including the police chief.

During an April 30 meeting, Ginyard told a Terry College administrator, “Graduation doesn’t matter. I will either be in jail or dead by May 11,” according to police.
