Jeff Marsh of 289 Milledge Terrace reported second degree criminal damage to property between 5 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 5 a.m. on Aug. 12. On his Gray 2004 F150 Ford, the words “Jesus Loves You” were scratched into the paint of the driver’s door. “Jesus saves” and “Jesus Loves You” were scratched into the driver’s side of the bed of the truck.
Charles Rogers of 341 Athens Ave. reported a theft by taking between 2 p.m. on Aug. 13 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 13. He stated he left the residence, and $105 was located in an open drawer in his room. When he returned, the drawer was closed and the money was gone. The roommate reported that the landlord sent people to work on the house and may be able to name suspects.
Four males were banned from Sandy Creek Park at 400 Bob Holeman Road for six weeks after trespassing at 6:20 p.m. on Aug. 13. Student Brandt Hacker, born in 1986, was one of the four.
Josh Fredrick Albert, 20, Brent Tucker, 19, and Kyle Hutcheson, 19, were arrested for underage possession of alcohol at Garden Apartments on 175 Spring Court at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 13. Al Reiger reported seeing three males drinking beer and urinating by the building. All three were barred for two years from the apartments.
Benjamin Sherrill reported a burglary of his guitar at his home on 345 Research Drive between 8:40 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. on Aug. 14. It was valued at $50. Sherrill said the door to his apartment was open, and he smelled smoke in the apartment. He saw the rocking chair moving and saw the suspect run from his apartment. The door to the apartment was left unlocked, and Sherrill reported seeing the car circling the complex before he left ten minutes earlier.
Blake Harrison Ramsay, 18, and David James Roos, 20, were arrested for underage possession and consumption of alcohol and open container at 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 14. Officer R. Ellis of Athens-Clarke County police stopped the two males as they were walking through the parking lot on 100 South Hampton Point toward South Milledge Avenue. Ramsay had a red Solo cup full of beer, and Roos had a bag with four cans of beer.
Alex Mark Busho of 723 Baxter Street said he was walking on Baxter Street in front of the FTX bookstore when an acquaintance pulled up and confronted him at 1 a.m. on Aug. 15. He said he has known the male for some time, who for no reason punched him in the eye, forehead and back of the head. Officer D. Whitney of the Athens-Clarke County police observed swelling around Busho’s right eye and a bump on his forehead. He was advised how to file a warrant hearing.
David Allen Pattillo, born in 1985, was arrested for breaking the noise ordinance at his residence on 106 Woodsong Avenue at 12:30 on Aug. 15. Officer Harold Kitchen observed a large party and gave him a municipal summons for violation of the noise ordinance.
Paul David Schofield, 20, was arrested for underage possession and consumption of alcohol at Towne Club Apartments on 260 Springdale Street at 3 a.m. on Aug. 15. Officer R. Ellis of Athens-Clarke County police observed a Ford Explorer turn left onto Milledge Avenue from Broad Street, and the volume in his vehicle was audible in excess of 100 feet. Schofield, who said he picked up passengers from downtown, was hesitant to give ID but stated he was 20 and refused to blow into the Alco Sensor. He was transported to Athens-Clarke County Sheriff’s Office.
Frazer Love, born in 1983, reported burglary at 117 Grove Street between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 13. Neighbor Courtney Arnold was a witness. Love reported damage to his rear door, and Arnold said an older male walked up to the front door, banged on it and hid behind some bushes down the street. Love reported that the door was pried and kicked open and one of locks was on the floor. A DVD player, digital camera and DVDs were taken. The cost of damage and items stolen is valued at $600.
Steven Lott, 19, reported his bike stolen at his 190 Baxter Drive apartment. A male, age 39, stole it and hid from police on Magnolia St. The male was released on pending charges.
