Georgia in top 20 ranking of public universities
The University is tied for 20th among public universities and 59th overall according to the 2008 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” guide.
“It is very gratifying for the hard work of the students, faculty and staff to be recognized with a top-20 ranking in U.S. News & World report,” said University President Michael F. Adams. “Such recognition is the result of consistently doing things right. As the flagship university of the state, UGA has an obligation to serve Georgia’s people with the highest level of quality. This ranking is an indication that UGA is doing just that.”
The undergraduate program at the Terry College of Business is ranked 27th overall and 17th among public business schools.
The 2008 rankings are available on-line at www.usnews.com and will be in the Aug. 27 edition of the magazine, which hits newsstands (along with the newsstand book America’s Best Colleges) on Monday.
