MCG expansion plans approved, not definite
The Board of Regents approved a $7.2 million request to expand the Medical College of Georgia last week.
One proposal is an Athens expansion.
Official expansion plans for MCG are not known, said Toni Baker, MCG’s Director of Media Relations.
The University’s goal is to use the Navy Supply Corps School site as the main facility and start classes in fall 2009.
“We’re going to have to figure out faculty and facilities because we have no access until 2011,” said Tom Jackson, vice president for Public Affairs.
