Sitting chickens roasting in jail cell
A University student and three others were arrested Monday for robbing Raising Cane’s in May.
Sheyna Krystal Hopkins, 22, was arrested for conspiracy to commit burglary and a felony count of party to a crime of burglary.
Hopkins is charged with helping Wade Jared Davis, 19, William Lee Sartain, 19, and Rebecca Ann Burns, 19, rob the restaurant on May 29, according to the affidavit for arrest.
Burns, a Gainesville State student, worked as a shift manager for Raising Cane’s.
Investigators probed the incident for suspects and filed affidavits on Aug. 17. They were booked on Monday.
None were given bond and remain in jail as of Tuesday afternoon.
No one was available for comment at Raising Cane’s on Tuesday.
Burns, who began working with Raising Cane’s in October 2005, wrote on her Facebook profile that her position is “the most laid-back job a person could have … until Cane’s takes over your life … then it sucks!”
