SEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TIM TEBOW, QB, FLORIDA
6’2″, 235 lbs., Sophomore
Tebow completed 18-of-25 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns. He also led Florida in rushing with 93 yards on 17 carries and two touchdows in the Gators’ 59-31 win against Troy.
SEC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
GABE O’NEAL, LB, MISSISSIPPI STATE
6’1″, 220 lbs., Senior
O’Neal tallied four total tackles and had an interception return (his first career interception) for a touchdown and a fumble recovery in Mississippi State’s 38-17 win at Tulane.
SEC OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK
JASON LEGER, G- KENTUCKY
6’1″, 287 lbs., Senior
Leger graded out at 90 percent with four knockdown blocks in Kentucky’s 56-20 win against Kent State. Leger did not allow any sacks and was part of an offensive line that helped the Wildcats score 56 points, the most for UK in a regulation game in five seasons.
SEC DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK
KIRSTON PITTMAN, DE, LSU
6’4″, 252 lbs., Senior
Pittman tallied a career-high eight total tackles and a quarterback pressure in LSU’s 48-7 win against Virginia Tech. The Tiger defense held the Hokies
to 149 total offensive yards, with just one play over 20 yards. Tech’s offense crossed mid-field twice and was held to just 43 yards in the first half. LSU’s defense has held opponents scoreless in nine of its last 10 quarters (dating back to last season).
SEC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK RYAN SUCCOP, P/PK, SOUTH CAROLINA
6’2″, 213 lbs., Junior
Succop was perfect on all three of his field goal attempts and averaged 40.7 yards on seven punts in South Carolina’s 16-12 win at Georgia. Succop’s field goals were from 41, 35 and 34 yards. On his seven punts, Succop had two inside the 20-yard line and had one touchback. His long was for 52 yards.
SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
TERRY GRANT, RB, ALABAMA
5’10″, 188 lbs.
Grant rushed for 173 yards on 24 carries and two touchdowns in Alabama’s 24-10 win at Vanderbilt. Grant accounted for 80 of Alabama’s 86 offensive yards on a fourth-quarter touchdown drive that put the Tide ahead, 24-3. For the second straight game, Grant scored on Alabama’s first offensive play (1-yard run).
