The Board of Regents put its final stamp of approval Wednesday on increasing the budget for the Tate Center Expansion and the transfer of the Navy Supply Corps School property.

These projects were presented to the regents by the committees that approved the measures Tuesday, Diane Payne, the board’s publications director said in a telephone interview.

Because the board agreed to increase the budget of the Tate Center Expansion by $17 million, it “will allow Tate construction to proceed on schedule,” said Sean Rogers, the University’s director of capital budgeting.

Danny Sniff, the associate vice president for facilities planning, said the board’s approval of the Navy Supply Corps School transfer will allow the board to accept the land if the Navy decides to convey it to the University.

Rogers said the board also approved a document detailing the University’s plans for the next six years.

These plans included a veterinary medicine teaching hospital and a science learning center.
