The Washington Farms corn maze outside of Watkinsville is ready for visitors to get lost in its twist and turns.

Students can lose themselves in a maze of corn to help fight cancer Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m.

The University’s Relay for Life chapter will host the event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

Jamie Traynor, a senior from Suwanee and the public relations coordinator for the chapter, said the fundraiser already has gotten the attention of students.

“There’s been some good interest from people,” she said. “It’s a really good seasonal event on an away game weekend.”

Katie Cullinan, a senior from Chester Springs, Penn., and the chapter’s chairman, said they are excited about teaming with Washington Farms in Watkinsville and hope students will come out.

“If we can rally enough of a student turn out, then [Washington Farms] will increase the amount they will donate,” Cullinan said. Tickets are $7.

Traynor said information about Relay for Life and how to register a team will be available.

“In addition to coming out and having a good time, students will have a chance to come out and learn more about Relay and the American Cancer Society,” Traynor said.
