Georgia men’s basketball coach Dennis Felton announced Monday that junior guard Mike Mercer has been dismissed from the team.

Mercer, carrying a black trash bag of his belongings, was escorted out of the practice facility a little before 4 p.m.

Felton said Mercer “had become a disruption.” He was on a 15-game suspension for violations of the Athletic Association’s academic attendance policy.

Mercer was the team’s second-leading scorer last year. He missed the last 10 games of the year with a knee injury.
