Starting today, all full-time students registered at the University can vote for Student Government Association’s executive party and the senators within the voter’s school.

During this period, the Foundation and Office parties continue to promote their campaigns and encourage students to vote.

McCoy Pitt, the Foundation Party’s presidential candidate, said the party campaigned between Tuesday and Friday.

“One day of campaigning is not enough,” he said.

To spread the party’s message to students on all parts of campus, he said the group hung fliers and banners in dormitories, classroom buildings and on North and South Campuses.

They also held a rally at Tate Plaza last Thursday featuring the local Eric Dodd Band.

“We want to give our campaign a personal touch,” Pitt said. “SGA should be thought of as a fun thing.”

Connor McCarthy, the Office Party’s presidential candidate, said the group tried to use a more grassroots approach by printing and distributing 500 T-shirts and giving away free office supplies around Tate Plaza.

“We want students to associate our party with people they know,” he said.

To increase awareness about the Office Party, members of the executive ticket and senators attended the Gym Dogs meet Friday and donated the remainder of their campaign money to Dance Marathon on Saturday.

The group is sponsoring free pizza and two Rock Band XBox setups at Tate Plaza today.

Students can vote on OASIS between today and Friday. Election results will be announced Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. on Herty Field. For a vote to count, students must press the “save” option after they select their candidates.
