Student assaulted on Oconee River Greenway
Athens-Clarke County police are investigating an aggravated sexual battery that involved a 19 year old University female Friday.
According to a police report: Police responded to a call from Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway on the Oconee River Greenway at 4:45 p.m. Gary Gaylord Ford, 38, of Augusta, was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery, aggravated assault and kidnapping.
The names two witnesses were redacted from the report.
The following unrelated incidents were reported by ACC Police:
Aqsa Mahmud reported a burglary at Deer
Parkway. There was no sign of forced entry. More than $3,000 in items was taken from the residence, including three laptops and an iPod.
A.J. Giurato reported a burglary of more than $2,000 in electronics from a Willow Mist apartment.
The doors were locked, but an stool was blocking the path to the living room, and the back door frame had pry marks.
Jaclyn Willet was charged with underage
possession and identity fraud at 11 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Broad and Wall streets.
Jessica Reynolds was charged with driving
under the influence on Barnett Shoals Road on Sunday. An officer saw her swerve on Oconee Street and stopped her when she pulled into the Burger King parking lot.
