A male student was struck on Baxter Street early Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. a green Ford Expedition or Explorer was traveling on Baxter Street and hit the student while turning into the W07 parking lot and then drove away, according to an eyewitness account.

A female student, who saw the incident, said the truck never used a turn signal. On her way to class, she stopped to help the student who was lying on the ground.

An ambulance arrived and paramedics placed the victim, who had cuts to his elbow but was able to make slight movements, onto a stretcher and transported him to St. Mary’s Hospital.

Authorities are looking for a 1990s model dark green Ford Explorer or Expedition with damage that may be in connection with the incident.
