BLOG: Mike and Tyler’s Excellent Omaha Adventure
Sports Editor Michael Fitzpatrick and baseball writer Tyler Estep took to the road at 8:54 a.m. Sunday for the 16-hour trip to Omaha to see if the Diamond Dogs can bring another title home to Athens. Keep up with their adventures here.
Here are some highlights from the blog so far:
From June 25:
I knew it, I knew there was a reason that Erin Andrews was always in the Georgia dugout. And it just took me until last night to figure it out.
Sure she may be one of the best looking (and semi-competent) in sports television, but there was a hidden motive, that until last night, wasn’t publicly known.
She’s a Gator spy, and she has been sent to the UGA dugout to distract them from their goal – of winning a national championship . . .
Midnight: Another Adult Superstore. Missouri must be a lonely place. There’s only so much you can do with corn.
2:12 a.m.: Switching things up, here’s my “Ode to Corn”:
Oh, your ears
They shuck my Soul, and cover the Midwest of my Heart.
Missouri, when I leave you
It will be Misery.
Nebraska, what more can I ask ya,
But more corn, more corn.
Corn for everyone.
2:46 a.m.: Tyler: “I just want to be in (expletive) Nebraska and I never thought I’d ever say that in my life.
