Student accused of taking more than $900 in clothes (w/warrants)

University student Leslie Marie Clausen was arrested Tuesday and charged with two felony counts of shoplifting, according to Athens-Clarke County arrest warrants.

Clausen, a sophomore from Dallas, Tex., turned herself in to the ACC Jail Tuesday at 4:22 p.m. and posted a $5,000 bond, according to the ACC booking log.

According to the police warrants, Clausen was charged with stealing $610 worth of clothing from Blonde Boutique on South Milledge Avenue on April 30. Included in the items reported stolen were an Alice & Olivia sleeveless shirt and Robert Rodriguez jacket.

Clausen is also accused of taking $373 worth of merchandise on May 5 from The Red Dress Boutique on Baxter Street, including a Walter skirt and a Nanette Lepone dress.

Clausen is scheduled to appear for both charges in ACC Magistrate Court Sept. 9.
