Each week, The Red & Black will survey a new demographic with a new theme. To kick things off the semester, we asked The Red & Black staff,
“What gets you back into the mood for school?”

“Baba O’Reilly” by The Who
It always reminds me of football season.
- Shannon Otto, Managing Editor

“Every Dawg” by Corey Smith
It makes me think of the great memories I have from cheering on the Dogs, and it gets me excited for the awesome times to come!
- Kristen Coulter, Editor in Chief

“I’m Shipping Up to Boston” by Dropkick Murphys
I loved the Irish tone, and there’s something about screaming the lyrics that makes even the crappiest day a bit better.
- Carolyn Crist, News Editor

“Vini Vidi Vici” by Black Lips
It’s a badass, hater-blockin’, ain’t nothin’ gonna get me down jam-jam.
- Chelsea Cook, Variety Editor

“Last Summer” by Lostprophets
The title and lyrics speak for themselves. It’s about being able to live out the best days of your life.
- Michael Fitzpatrick, Sports Editor

“Two of Those Too” by Maria Taylor
The melody is stress-relieving, and when she sings about “the college town with a musical sound,” I think of Athens.
- Julie Leung, Out & About Editor
