Crimewatch Oct. 16-22
Incidents reported to the University Police Department:
Caitlin Sarah Lammie, 24, was arrested and charged with improper driving and DUI alcohol at 2:12 a.m. on Oct. 15. She was released on a $2,000 bond at 8:36 a.m.
Joseph Theodore Moore, 18, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 10:06 p.m. Oct. 16 at Creswell Hall.
Diana Marie McDaniel, 20, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol and possession of fake ID at 3:17 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Zell Miller Learning Center.
Jillian Leigh Sweat, 20, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol and false name and date of birth at 3:32 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Founders Memorial Garden.
Collin Chung, 20, was issued a warrant for theft by receiving stolen property and underage possession of alcohol on Oct. 17. He was booked at 3 p.m on Oct. 16.
Brandon Jermaine Wood, 21, was arrested and charged with DUI alcohol and lights required. He was arrested on East Campus Road at 2:11 a.m. on Oct. 19.
Courtney Anna Parker, 20, was arrested and charged with DUI alcohol, underage possession of alcohol, hit and run/parked vehicle and improper driving. She was arrested on Morton Avenue at 3:08 a.m. on Oct. 18.
Erin Nicole Arevalo, 17, was charged with underage possession of alcohol. She was booked at 4:50 a.m. on Oct. 18.
Vincent Lee Vance, 21, was arrested and charged with license required. He was arrested at College Station Road and Mark Twain Circle at 7:55 p.m. on Oct. 18.
Scott Michael Royer, 36, was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, DUI alcohol, possession of open containers in a vehicle and possession of drug related objects. He was arrested at Vine Street and Herman Street at 11:56 p.m. on Oct. 20.
Karen Diane McClellan, 23, was arrested and charged with improper driving and suspended license. She was arrested at Lumpkin Street and Milledge Avenue at 2:29 a.m. on Oct. 21.
The University reported receiving counterfeit currency as payment for lodging at the Georgia Center between 9:12 a.m. and 11:41 a.m. Oct. 12.
The University reported three Dell desktop computers and two printers missing from the Behavior Research building at 9:38 a.m. Oct. 15. The missing items are valued at $5,171.
A University employee reported $25 was stolen from Meigs Hall between Oct. 16 and 17.
A University employee reported $247 was stolen from Brooks Hall between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 17.
A University employee reported being threatened by a known individual at Snelling Dining Hall at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 20.
The University reported an Infocus projector worth $2,760 was stolen from Riverbend Research Labs.
A University employee reported her purse and contents worth $34 were stolen from O-House Dining Commons between 10:20 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. on Oct. 21.
A University visitor reported being punched by an unknown individual at Peabody Hall at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 18.
A University student reported being grabbed and pushed by a known individual at Creswell Hall between 1:15 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. on Oct. 18.
A University student reported receiving unwanted phone calls from a known individual ay Oglethorpe House between Aug. 20 and Oct. 8.
A University student reported a black and gray bike seat worth $85 was stolen from Caldwell Hall between Oct 17 and 19.
The University reported $44 gas from a state vehicle as stolen at the McPhaul Center Lot between Oct. 15 and 16.
A University student reported a GPS unit and papers worth $252 were stolen from the Family Housing Office between 7:55 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. on Oct. 17.
A University student reported at GPS unit worth $250 was stolen from the Family Housing Office between Oct. 12 and 17.
A University student reported his wallet and contents worth $139 were stolen and an unauthorized use of his financial transaction card at the Miller Learning Center between Sept. 22 and Oct. 15.
A University employee reported $50 in bills and coins were stolen at the Main Library on Oct. 16.
Incidents reported to the Athens Clarke-County Department:
John Edward Seewoester, 18, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 17. A police officer saw Seewoester pass out and attempted to wake him up, according to the report. The officer asked for his license and saw that he was underage.
Wesley Macon Henderson, 20, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol. He was booked at 12:15 a.m. on Oct. 17.
Charles Ronald Gill, 23, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault. He was booked at 11:07 p.m. on Oct. 16.
Spenser Davenport Simrill, 32, was arrested and charged with no proof of insurance at 6:11 p.m. on Oct 14. He was released on a $1,000 bond at 7:52 p.m.
Leah Diane Pharr, 21, was charged with a violation of probation. She was booked at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 15.
James Joseph Pritchett, 22, was arrested and charged with speeding, improper driving and DUI alcohol. He was booked at 2:46 a.m. on Oct. 19.
Michael Trae Holmes, 19, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol. He was booked at 1:06 a.m. on Oct. 19.
Micah Paul Springston, 19, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol. He was booked at 2:41 a.m. on Oct. 18.
Robert Fleming Shirley, 19, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol. He was booked at 4:41 a.m. on Oct. 18.
Zachary Taylor Jones, 22, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, open containers, drug related objects, urinate/defecate in public and drugs/original container. He was booked at 1:04 a.m. on Oct. 18.
Jordan Dickinson Henry, 21, was arrested and charged with DUI alcohol and obeying signal/signs. He was booked at 6:27 p.m. on Oct. 17.
Janet Weeks, 21, was charged with furnishing alcohol to minors. She was booked at 11:41 a.m. on Oct. 21.
Brooke Robyn Sexton, 21, was arrested and charged with improper driving and DUI alcohol. She was booked at 1:46 a.m. on Oct. 22.
Stephanie Marion Gherini, 18, was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol and possession of an ID without consent between 12:25 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. Oct. 17. A police officer approached Gherini after noticing her being denied entry into a bar and “stagger away.” When asked for her ID Gherini presented the officer with a fake ID, which was a replica of her authentic North Carolina license in her purse, with an altered date of birth, according to the report.
A burglary occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 at Brighton Park Apartments on 4315 Lexington Rd. Jessica Marie Wells reported 8 DVDs, a Memorex DVD player, 4 bottles of Bud Light, a bag of clothing and a 35 mm Cannon camera stolen by the intruder(s). Police determined entry was made by removing a front window screen and pushing the window up. There are no known suspects at this time.
Police received information about property that had been lost between Oct. 1 at 12:01 a.m. and Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. Lauren Michael Wade told police her tag and mounting bracket on her vehicle were lost or stolen between that time period.
An entering auto incident occurred between 2:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 at University Tower on 131 E. Broad St. Amy Davis told police her Dell lap top worth $1,200 was stolen from her car. There were no signs of forced entry.
A complaint about harassing phone calls was made on Oct 14. Teagan Smith told police that Preston Cohen had been sending her text messages and a message on Facebook accusing her of messing with a tire and telling her to leave him and his girlfriend alone. Smith told police she wanted Cohen to leave her alone and that since the Facebook message there had not been any further messages.
A theft by taking incident occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 at 270 Laurie Dr. Daniel Thomas Seaton told police an electric chain-saw and green extension cord were taken from the storage area behind his residence. His neighbor’s storage area was also entered.
A criminal trespass to property occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at 195 Sycamore Dr. Matthew Parker’s Jeep window was cut by a sharp object, but no items of value were in plain view and nothing was stolen from the vehicle.
A criminal trespass occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. Oct. 16. Adrienne Elsberry called police after discovering Ian Schwarber in her bedroom. He was uninvited and she did not know him, Elsberry said. Schwarber told police he did not know how he got there. His last memory was performing music at the 40 Watt Club downtown.
A criminal trespass to property incident occurred at Tara Apartments between 7:00 p.m. Oct. 15 and 8 a.m. Oct. 16. Anna Beale told police an unknown person used paint to write the word “Fag” on the top paint of her vehicle. Beale told police she recently saw another vehicle in the Tara Complex with the word “bitch” painted in orange on its window.
A burglary occurred at 109 Moreland Ave. between 9:40 a.m. and 12:05 a.m. Oct 16. University student Justin Bullock told police when he arrived home he found the back door open and the house in disarray. Bullock was missing a Dell laptop computer. Bullock’s roommate and University student Tyler Reinagel told police he was missing a 27″ LG television. Another roommate, University student Samuel Panter, told police he was missing a 42″ flatscreen television, an iPhone, an xbox and xbox video games. University student Gabriela Garcia told police she was missing panties from her underwear drawer.
Robert Wallace reported a lost wallet on the Athens Transit Bus #14 at 4:40 p.m. Oct. 16. Wallace told police he believes he left his wallet on the bus. The wallet contained his driver’s license, UGA student ID, debit card, cash and health and car insurance information. The wallet was described as being a black, trifold wallet with a red square with a white cross in its emblem in the lower corner.
An entering auto incident occurred at the Mormon Center between 1:15 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Oct. 17. Candice Rutledge told police she heard a crashing sound. When she went outside she said a white male was in her truck. Rutledge said the vehicle was unlocked, but he broke the window anyway. When she yelled at him, he into a dark blue four door vehicle and left. A CD player was stolen, valued at $300.
An entering auto incident occurred between 3:45 a.m. and 3:52 a.m. Oct. 14 at Cascade Apartments on 195 Sycamore Drive. Hillary Hanley’s front passenger window was busted out with a large rock. Hanley reported the following items as missing: a purse valued at $150, $100 cash, a driver’s license, a diamond ring valued at $2,500, two bank cards, a check book and social security card.
A robbery by sudden snatch occurred some time between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. Oct. 11 at the Chi Phi House on 290 S. Lumpkin St. The victim, Ashley Price, told police she was walking a little behind her boyfriend on the sidewalk in front of the Chi Phi House when a college-aged male ran past her and snatched her purse. Price said she did not get a good look at the suspect’s face. The following contents were in the purse: a driver’s license, a social security card, $50 cash, a credit card, bank debit card and a military ID card.
