Weekend Sports Preview

Today:
Gymnastics: No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 23 West Virginia.
Stegeman Coliseum, 7:30 p.m.
Admission: $2 with UGA ID
The Gym Dogs begin their quest for a fifth straight national title as West Virginia comes to Athens. The Gym Dogs are battling through injuries and will be without Courtney McCool, who has a fractured bone in her left foot. It’s also the beginning of the end for coach Suzanne Yoculan, who will retire after this season.

Saturday:
Men’s Hoops: Georgia vs. No. 15 Tennessee
Stegeman Coliseum, noon
Admission: $2 with UGA ID
The Bulldogs open SEC play against the defending regular season SEC East champs. Georgia will have to find a way to contain Tyler Smith, who is averaging 17.2 points per game.
Swimming: Georgia vs. Texas
Gabrielsen Natatorium, 1 p.m.
Admission: Free
It’s Senior Day and the last home meet both Georgia teams will host this season. The No. 1 women and the No. 11 men are riding high after blowout wins over SMU in Dallas on Tuesday.

The Lady Dogs return home to host their second conference game of the season against the Gamecocks.
