Safety Jones likely to enter NFL draft
Georgia safety Reshad Jones might be having a change of heart, telling the Macon Telegraph and TotalUGA.com he is leaning towards declaring for the NFL draft Wednesday night.
“I’m leaning more towards leaving,” Jones told TotalUGA.com. “I just feel like it’s a weak safety class and that this would be a good time for me to leave.”
On Tuesday, Jones said he was coming back for his final season in a press release sent out by Georgia sports information director Claude Felton. Jones finished this season with five interceptions and 76 tackles.
If Jones opts for the NFL draft, he will become the fourth underclassman to do so, joining Matthew Stafford, Knowshon Moreno and Asher Allen.
Jones may arrange a teleconference to announce his decision on Thursday.
