A house fire on South Milledge Avenue caused disruptions to one of the University’s main bus routes Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to a fire at 165 South Milledge Avenue, closing off Milledge Avenue between West Broad Street and Dearing Street. Geter & Associates, attorneys in bankruptcy law, are listed at that address.

Until the firefighters were finished, the Milledge Avenue bus line was not run between Broad Street and Baxter Street. Campus Transit rerouted the buses, picking up students at the Varsity on Broad Street, as well as at Springdale Street on Milledge Avenue.

Regular service resumed by 10:30 a.m.
