Kelly Doyle-Mace, one of UGA’s very own, has made it into the top ten out of 700 applicants for the STA travel contest, a student and youth travel group. If Kelly wins, she and one other winner will have the opportunity to travel 15 countries worldwide, and at the end will complete an internship experience in Barcelona.
Cine celebrates 2nd anniversary

This week, in a building that at varying times has been a post office extension, a car showroom and a tire company plant, local art house theater Cine will celebrate its second anniversary. “We have a nice week of really diverse entertainment, which is really what Cine is all about, more than just being a standard movie theater,” said Kamala Lyons, Cine’s public relations director.
Bulldog offense shines in scrimmage

The Georgia football team held its first scrimmage in full pads Monday night in Sanford Stadium. For the majority of spring practice, the defense had been recognized as holding a slight edge on the offensive team, in energy and making plays. On Monday the offense countered, answering with success of its own.

A former Georgia football player left a special present for the police officer who arrested him Sunday morning.
Kelin Johnson, a standout defensive back at Georgia from 2004-07, was arrested on East Campus Road at 2:11 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.
Record books beware, Poythress comes calling

I hope the Georgia baseball record book is written in pencil because there may be some heavy erasing by season’s end. In his first season as the go-to guy on offense (without some dude named Gordon Beckham) junior first baseman Rich Poythress has taken to assaulting the offensive record books.

Book questions President Adams’ ethics

I’ve been more cynical the past few days than ever before.
A book being publicized in Atlanta today is essentially questioning University President Michael Adams’ leadership, and the University refuses to talk about it.
I’m not surprised. Administrators want the book to get as little attention as possible.
