DYNAMITE CLOTHING

“We are about wearable vintage” said Lori Paluck, owner of Dynamite from Warrenton, Va. Dynamite is known for their mix of men and women’s vintage with new hipster American Apparel. The store showcases a unique collection of retro sunglasses and also sells furniture and vintage fabrics. Bonus: Everything vintage is washed before it’s put out on the floor and allowing customers to literally “walk” out of the store with it on.

MENAGERIE
Where: 165 E. Clayton St.
Hours: Open weekdays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed Mondays)
Winner: Best accessories
A discreet little boutique on Clayton, Menagerie has delicate accessories and high end labels. “We want to reuse things, remake and restyle them.” Tonya Gergely a partner and manager from Athens, even takes some of the clothing herself and updates them with her own alterations. MINX

Winner: Best finds from the ’50s – ’70s
Minx is where the diehard vintage shoppers can find older pieces from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. I. Men’s jean jackets, cowboy boots, funky lamps- they have it all. For one of a kind, hard to find pieces Minx is the store for you.

AGORA
Where: 260 W. Clayton St.
Hours: Open every day 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Winner: MVP of vintage in Athens
Multiple dealers contribute to this wonderfully eclectic store, including local designers and artists. “If the whole family came to Agora, everyone could walk home with something.” Airee Hong, the owner of Agora from Athens said. From the perfect vintage tee and bangles to furs, Chanel purses, and pearls, Agora has it all. And if they don’t have it- they’ll track it down for you.
