Fitness options fun, unique in Athens
Everyone knows that Athens offers an array of options for staying fit, such as the Ramsey Center or other local gyms.
“I work out at Ramsey and I use the elliptical and weights,” said Shaina Forman, a junior from Austin, Tex.
But many of us easily become bored with traditional workout. Luckily, Athens offers countless opportunities to combine unconventional fitness and fun.

Classes are available for all age groups and skill levels, and focus on improving strength and balance while in the air.
The next session begins March 16 and lasts for 9 to 10 weeks, depending on the class. Prices range from $108 to $150.
Healing Arts Center

Prices range from $60 to $132 depending on the length of the course and number of classes.
Dancefx, Inc.

The outdoors
When indoor workouts become too stifling, try exercising outdoors.
The Intramural Fields, the North Oconee River Greenway and Sandy Creek Park all have miles of trails and pet-friendly areas. Enjoy the forest and river scenery while hiking or jogging at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, with five miles of trails available to the public.
