A University student was arrested on felony charges over the weekend after police searched her home for a wanted individual.

Cecile Annette Robinson was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and two counts of possession of firearm in the commission of a crime on March 20.

At 5:45 p.m., the police went to the residence of Shambrina Evans, with whom Robinson was living, on a tip that Jennifer Lynn Akins, wanted, was at the residence. Akins had five outstanding warrants, all pertaining to illegal drugs, according to the report.

When the police went to the back of the residence to investigate, they heard lots of movement before Robinson answered the door. She gave police permission to search the residence, which police said smelled strongly of marijuana.

Police saw a Beretta 9mm semi-automatic pistol on the living room floor near a magazine with eight rounds of .40 caliber ammunition, according to the report.

One officer opened a door to a bedroom where he suspected movement, and a plastic gallon jug with five plastic bags of marijuana fell to the ground, according to the report. In the hall closet police found a loaded Maverick 12-gauge shotgun model T-88.

Robinson was handcuffed and upon search a bag of marijuana was found in her front left pocket, according to the report.

She was taken to the Athens-Clarke County jail at 6:48 p.m.

Evans and Jennifer Martin arrived at the residence shortly after.

In addition to Evans, Robinson also lives with Harold Davis.
