The Georgia women’s tennis team had one thing on their mind heading into its match Sunday against Arkansas.
Revenge.
After dropping two of their three meetings against Arkansas last year, the Bulldogs (15-2, 5-1 SEC) responded with a 6-1 thrashing over Arkansas (9-5, 4-2 SEC) on a windy Sunday afternoon in Athens.
Loss of sleep a nonissue as men’s tennis wins big

It’s a 627-mile trip to Fayetteville, Ark.
Add that to the fact the flight was delayed five hours, an hour of sleep was lost because of the central time zone change and Sunday’s match was a relatively early start. All those factors would help contribute to a loss, right?

Rain forces invitational to one-day event, women’s golf places sixth

Rainy weekend weather in Athens forced the 37th annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic to cancel the first two rounds of the three-day invitational at the UGA golf course, setting up an unusual 18-hole tournament format on Sunday.
Unfortunately for the Georgia women’s golf team, which was attempting to defend last year’s championship, the two days away from the links robbed them of momentum.
Pitching propels softball team to sweep of Kentucky

If No. 7 Georgia forgets its powerful bats in the locker room, Bulldog fans need not worry.
Georgia (24-4, 7-2 SEC) was able to consistently manufacture runs during a home series sweep against SEC opponent Kentucky (22-11, 5-7 SEC), outscoring the scrappy Wildcats 18-3 behind a sound pitching and defensive effort.
Versfeld sets record as men swimmers finish 10th at NCAAs

The Georgia men’s swimming and diving team finished the NCAA championship the way it started after Day 1 – in 10th place.
The Bulldogs finished with 131 points, two shy of ninth place finisher Virginia (133) and 395 points behind meet winner Auburn (526).

Junior Demarcus Dobbs suffered a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his left foot at practice Thursday, putting him out of practice for the rest of the spring.
Diamond Dogs hold on, complete three-game sweep of Tennessee

After two offensive explosions on Friday and Saturday, the top-ranked Georgia baseball team had to rely on – and hope for – strong pitching in the series finale against Tennessee.
And the Diamond Dogs (22-3, 7-2 SEC) got it from sophomore Justin Grimm and the bullpen in their 4-3 win Sunday to sweep the Volunteers (11-15, 1-8 SEC) at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn.
