New credit hour threshold unfair to current students

The Board of Regents’ decision to increase the full-time credit hour requirement to 15 hours is completely unfair. I came into to the University with AP credits, studied abroad over the summer, and have taken over 15 hours during several semesters.

During my senior year, I planned to take 12 hours in the fall and 13 in the spring, because I only need 25 more hours to graduate. Taking less than 15 hours also allows me time to work a part time job, 20 hours a week. If I take 15 hours a semester next year, I will run out of HOPE hours.

I planned my college career based on a 12 hour a semester requirement. Why should I be punished for working hard and getting ahead? The new requirement does not make sense for anyone, and it certainly should not be applied toward current students.
