It took just one swing of the bat for the sophomore third baseman to tie three individual single-season Bulldog records in Georgia’s 8-0 win over Western Carolina Wednesday evening.

Sitting just one home run and extra-base hit behind Megan McAllister (16 HR, 32 XBH) and three RBIs behind Kim Wendland (65), Goler cemented herself in an elite category of Bulldog greats.

In the bottom half of the third inning with runners on first and second, Goler stepped to the plate with a chance at the records.

One high-towering home run later: mission accomplished.

Goler’s record-tying homer soared over the right center field wall and ended with the entire Georgia team and coaching staff waiting at home plate to congratulate her.

“It was really exciting to tie the record,” Goler said, “It was nice to knock out all three at once.”

Not only did Goler tie an individual record with her 16th home run of the season, but she also gave the Bulldogs a team total of 60 long balls on the year – tying the record set back in 2006.

“It was nice to tie the individual record, but I think we tied the team single-season record, too,” Goler said. “That’s awesome because we’ve made so much improvement as a team since last year.”

As far as how long it will take Goler to ultimately break the records remains to be seen.

“Obviously I’d like to do it this weekend because we’re playing Tennessee, but also because my dad and brother will be here, so that would be nice,” she said.
