Following the Georgia football team sending six former football players to the NFL in the 2009 NFL draft over the weekend, four more ex-Bulldogs have signed free agent contracts with NFL teams.

- Fullback Brannan Southerland, considered one of the top true fullback prospects in the country prior to a foot injury that saw him miss seven games in 2008, signed with the New York Jets.
- Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, also sidelined with injuries in 2008 after high draft expectations, will sign with the Baltimore Ravens, his agent said.
- Wide receiver Kenneth Harris signed with the New Orleans Saints.
- Wide receiver Demiko Goodman has signed a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

There has been no word yet on whether defensive back C.J. Byrd or punter Brian Mimbs have signed free agent contracts.
These free agent signings came two days after former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford was selected No. 1 overall by the Detroit Lions. Stafford became the first Georgia player selected in the top 5 since Garrison Hearst was drafted third overall in 1993.
Stafford also became the first former Bulldog selected No. 1 overall since the San Francisco 49ers selected receiver Harry Babcock in 1953 with the top pick.
Former Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno joined Stafford in the first round, being selected 12th overall by the Denver Broncos.
