Dooley to receive ‘Legends Award’

Former Georgia head football coach and director of athletics Vince Dooley will receive the Rotary Club of Atlanta “Legends Award” on Monday afternoon, Aug. 10, at the Loudermilk Center in downtown Atlanta.

The Award is given to individuals who have transcended excellence to achieve the status of legend in their careers, bringing honor not only to their work but also to their city and state. Previous winners of the award include Tom Cousins, Billy Payne, Hank Aaron, Andrew Young, John Portman, and Truett Cathy.

The Rotary Club of Atlanta has a membership of 500 and represents the civic leadership of the city. The “Legends Award” is the club’s highest honor. Dooley will also be named a Paul Harris Fellow, which is the highest honor of Rotary International.
