Forbes ranks UGA 29th of all public colleges
If it’s August, it must be time for rankings.
With the Princeton Review already in the books (University of Georgia chosen the fourth-best party school) and the U.S. News and World Report rankings and college football polls to come, Forbes magazine chimed in Wednesday with its rankings of America’s Best Colleges.
Out of 600 colleges, the University ranked 211 overall and 29th among public colleges. In last year’s poll UGA checked in at 177 overall and 19th among public colleges.
On a positive note, a separate poll ranking America’s Best College Buys had UGA No. 12. The magazine also rated business schools, with UGA’s Terry College checking in at 50th.
At the top of the list for Forbes was the United States Military Academy, followed by Princeton, California Institute of Technology, Williams College and Harvard.
According to Forbes, the magazine used student evaluations, post-graduate success, estimated student debt and graduation rates to determine the rankings.
