Some resolutions for the fall semester
Editor’s Note: Variety writer, Jessica Brown, recommends four new school year resolutions and provides helpful information for getting started on these worthy goals.
Keep in Shape: Being active is extremely accessible in the Classic City. There are trapeze classes at Canopy for the curiously creative, running down Milledge for the socially conscious athletes and a plethora of classes and equipment at Ramsey for couch potatoes hoping to get back in shape.

Expand Your Social Circle: Ballroom dance classes take place every Friday at the dance department; Walker’s Coffee and Pub has karaoke on Tuesdays and Thursdays; Ciné hosts movie trivia nights monthly. This is just a sampling of the activities that will expand your social calendar.

Become Musical: As members of such a musically conscious community, those who have never picked up anything more complicated than Guitar Hero during their college career should try to learn an instrument. Odds are everyone in this city knows about five people who are already in a band or who at least own a guitar. Ask around with friends, or go to Chick Piano downtown – they are well-supplied and knowledgeable about all things musical. It doesn’t have to take up all your time and energy – tambourines count, too.

Love Your City: These are hard times, but some things, such as appreciating the town one lives in, are worth the extra effort. The Athens Farmer’s Market is a great place to start garnering an affection for local products and help support local farmers. It’s also a beautiful way to spend a Saturday morning, full of fresh veggies, ripe fruit and delicious pastries. Even if produce doesn’t get Athens fever running through your veins need, enjoying the music of headlining bands for free is pretty nice.
Every Saturday, 8-12 a.m, Bishop Park
