Show some sympathy

As I was reading through The Red & Black today I stumbled upon the editorial comic for Tuesday 8/18/09 and felt immediately assaulted.

Whether you voted for President Obama or not, comparing him to one of the most horrific killers in all of history is blatantly absurd and unbelievably offensive.

Immediately after the elections, I heard ridiculous accusations like those thrown around by people who obviously were just in shock, but to have a publication print something as ignorant as that makes me sick.

Referencing a man who single-handedly murdered an entire generation of people without a second thought is one of the most idiotic things I have ever heard of. I am ashamed of The Red & Black editorial staff who allowed the reference to be printed.

I hope you know you have forever lost my interest in your paper and I hope that there are other students around campus who recognize the indecency of that comic and follow suit. It is things like these that hinder progression and cause hatred and hurt.
