ERIC HUTCHINSON

Eric Hutchinson is the best thing MySpace ever brought to me. I happened across him on the site four years ago and fell in love with his soulful voice and catchy lyrics.

I nearly screamed when I heard one of his songs in “Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2″ and was thrilled to see he finally released a full-length album.

The album, entitled “Sounds Like This,” was almost shelved. Hutch-inson encountered a major problem while recording it: The studio where he planned to record shut down, so he decided to release it independently in 2007. The album made a boom on iTunes and was picked up and re-released by Warner Bros. Records in 2008.

Hutchinson is an extremely talented singer-songwriter. One can’t help head-bobbing along while listening to his catchy tunes. He blends blues, pop and soul genres to create a sound similar to Jason Mraz. Not to mention his incredible piano talent sets him apart from many up-and-coming artists.

Hutchinson deserves a lot more attention than he has received. His live music sounds just as good, if not better, than the recordings that prove his validity as an artist. His music can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone willing to listen.
