Removing online comments truly a ‘flawless’ system
Yo, Red and Black, Imma let you finish, but I’m the best troll of all time.
Yes, I am poster “Kanye West”. And I’m not sorry. You claim in your article Oct. 5, 2009 article “Mailbox revival” that your new commenting system seemed “in theory…flawless.” But you had no means of verification – it took less than five minutes for me to register and post as Mr. West. I applaud your move to a more mature and professional means of facilitating discussion. Indeed, it seems very out of place given the paper’s history of focusing on shallow stories and ignoring national and international events. Hopefully the standard of the paper at large will follow this new step forward for reader discussion.
Good night and good luck.

Hope is not lost for current football season
Saturday’s game was very frustrating to watch. I guess I came into the game with a preconceived notion that out team was better than it truly is. The defense was terrific for most of the game with the exception of the secondary.
I know Joe Cox’ wish since he was a kid was to be the Quarterback of Georgia but dreams sometimes don’t come true. He is mediocre at best. I can not believe we do not have a legitimate number two quarterback this season.
Coach Richt need to think outside the box for a change. He is to conservative in his coaching of this team. Coach Bobo has absolutely no imagination when it comes to calling an offensive play. Why he is still in that position is a mystery to me. Lets make the most of the remainder of the season to see who has the talent to lead us next season. Go Dawgs!

Students have no obligation to professors
I have an answer for Margaret Atkinson. In her recent piece she discusses the importance of paying attention in class and wonders if I would treat my grandmother the way I treat my professor. Well, I wouldn’t, but then again I pay one and not the other.
Those of us who pay for our education ourselves have no debt to educators or anyone else. I am paying for a service, if I choose to be attentive I will, if not, my choice.
I think Ms. Atkinson would be better served worrying about her own attentiveness and conduct in the classroom. Incidentally we need to stop this deification of college educators. Get an education, but don’t hang on every word they say.
Personally I’d rather listen to the hot dog vendor for 3 hrs a week. He probably has more life experience.
