Gorgia senior Christian Vitulli beat Vanderbilt’s Vijay Paul, 6-2, 6-3, to lead the Bulldogs on the second day of the Bulldog Scramble Saturday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Vitulli also teamed the Borja Malo to beat Georgia Tech’s Dean O’Brien and Juan Spir, 8-6, in doubles.

In other action Will Reynolds, who won a pair of matches on Friday, downed Georgia Tech’s Austin Roebuck, 6-4, 6-3.

“It was the best I’ve seen Christian play since he’s been here,” associate head coach Will Glenn said. “He has really turned it around and has shown good leadership. Will Reynolds continues to impress. He beat a veteran player in Roebuck, and that is a good win for him. He continues to improve.”

Drake Bernstein lost a three-set match to Vanderbilt’s Bryant Salcedo, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, Borja Malo fell to the Commodores’ Charlie Jones, 6-2, 6-3, Georgia Tech’s Doug Kenny beat Will Oliver, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, and Alex Hill feel to the Yellow Jackets’ Magin Origa, 6-4, 6-1.

The Bulldog Scramble concludes with the final day of play set to begin Sunday morning.
