MAN ON THE STREET: Students react to Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize
U.S. President Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, to recognize what the Norwegian Nobel Committee called his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”
President Obama has only been in the Oval Office for nine months and many have said the award is premature and unmerited. But others have argued the president is deserving for his work to better American foreign relations and working toward nuclear disarmament.
The Red & Black spoke with several University students to hear their reactions to the president’s award.
