University golfing sensation Marta Silva Zamora sat down with the Red & Black to discuss the team, music and the Georgia campus.

R&B: You’re a former reality TV star, do people still recognize you in public?

Zamora: Actually I just had one experience I was with some of my friends and a girl comes running up to me and goes ‘you’re that girl on that TV show.’ But it doesn’t happen very often.

R&B: Who is the funniest member on the women’s golf team?

Zamora: When Kendall and Milena are together, they are really funny.

R&B: Best player you’ve ever played with?

Zamora: Carlota Ciganda, who plays for Arizona State.

R&B: What’s in your iPod before a round?

Zamora: It depends sometimes I just feel like shuffle and that’s it. I don’t have a specific type of music I listen to.

R&B: What was it like representing your country this summer at the European Ladies Amateur Team Championships?

Zamora: It was great. It was the best thing you can do.

R&B: Did you play any other sports other than golf when you were a kid?

Zamora: I played like everything but I played tennis and then I played basketball and I did some kind of track but not really seriously.

R&B: What’s your favorite spot to study on campus?

Zamora: North Campus is really nice.

R&B: What do you like to do away from the golf course?

Zamora: I like to hang out with my friends, go out with them, not out like partying, but to eat or something like that. Just hang out with my friends, watch movies.

R&B: What’s your favorite movie of all time?

Zamora: The Lion King – I love that movie.

R&B: How’d you get started in golf?

Zamora: My friends played and my brother played, and they were like you need to do something on the weekend. So they got me in golf lessons, and I didn’t really like it, but I just did it on the weekends.

R&B: So when did you start to like it?

Zamora: I started liking it when I first went to the Spanish national tournament and got to play with kids my age. I thought it was fun knowing people from other places so that was when I started to like it.
