Rambo learns from scout team experience

This time last year, Bacarri Rambo was playing scout team quarterback, helping prepare his Georgia teammates for their clash with Florida and Tim Tebow.
This time around, Georgia’s redshirt freshman safety will be getting plenty of playing time against the Gators, using to his advantage what he learned while emulating Tebow last year.
“Playing scout team quarterback, when I played Tebow last year, I learned a lot because I know what they’re going to run and stuff,” Rambo said. “But there’s still more to come, and I still have to go watch film and study my playbook, see what the coaches want me to do. But it really helped me out a lot.”
In sporadic playing time this season, Rambo has two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown against Tennessee. He almost had a third in the Bulldogs’ last game against Vanderbilt.
Tebow, the Gators’ Heisman-winning quarterback, has struggled comparatively this season, and the previously-vaunted Florida offense has shown its human side. After losing two fumbles against Arkansas, Tebow threw two interceptions Saturday against Mississippi State, as the Gators struggled to another win, this time 29-19.
“That really showed us that everybody makes turnovers, and we’ve just got to improve on making plays, getting the ball back,” Rambo said. “Our turnover ratio is very low right now, and we’ve just got to go out there and play hard, make turnovers and get the ball. That’s our job is to stop them from scoring and then get the ball from them, give our offense a chance to score and do their thing.”

Former Dogs’ QB Greene to be in Jacksonville
The winningest quarterback in Division I history, David Greene will be on-hand outside the South Endzone of Jacksonville Municipal Stadium Saturday with the “Sports Illustrated Heisman Tour presented by Nissan.”
Greene will participate in an “SI chalk talk” from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., which will also include an autograph session with the former Bulldog great.
He will be joined by former Florida Heisman winner Danny Wuerfful, as the two represent both teams participating in Saturday’s game.
