Credit where credit’s due

Thanks, Matt Evans, for a very informative article about Charlotte Thomas Marshall and her new book about the Oconee Hill Cemetery that is due out in a few weeks! She deserves your high praise and so much more for her work in preserving and compiling so much Athens history into this volume. But, she’s NOT “elderly!”!!

Libelous material discredits us

I’m embarrassed to be a Georgia Bulldog if Marc McAffe’s statements about Tim Tebow are tolerated on this campus. McAffe’s attempt to emasculate Tebow by intimating that he engages in sexual behavior with young boys is repulsive and pathetic. Furthermore, his suggestion that Georgia players to hit “Tebow so hard he’s delivered to the right hand of God the Father.” is ugly and callous. Is this what the “culture of competition” has done to us? Has it made is so blind to the humanity of the opponent that we can actually, in print mind you, call for their death? I’d like to think that if folks, especially those pursing a college degree, harbor “hate” for Tebow, then they’d have the maturity, thoughtfulness and intellect to call it what it is: jealousy.
