University student Kirby Ryan Moore, 20, was arrested and charged with four crimes, including public indecency after nakedly fleeing police though a parking lot and over a fence before tripping and falling over a grill, according to an Athens-Clarke County Police report.

According to the report:

Moore was found standing naked in public next to a woman after police responded to a complaint of a naked man in public.

When the arresting officer approached Moore, he fled through the Blind Pig Tavern parking lot on Williams Street, and climbed a fence before police caught up with him when he tripped over a grill and fell on his back. Moore was flipped onto his stomach, handcuffed and charged with public indecency, public intoxication, underage possession of alcohol and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

Moore was unable to be reached by The Red & Black Thursday for comment.

Two arrested for shoplifting

Two University students were arrested and charged with felony shoplifting Wednesday night after Macy’s loss prevention caught them taking $782 worth of merchandise out of the store without paying.

According to the Athens-Clarke County Police report:

University students Theresa Lerin Lent, 23, and Kendra Ruth Rouch, 22, were found with five bras, seven necklaces, eight pairs of earrings, a key chain, a three-piece ring set, a ring, some sterling balls and other clothing.

Both women were barred from the mall for one year and from Macy’s for two years.

“I’m an idiot. I was just being crazy and acting foolish and I’m going to fix it,” Lent told The Red & Black Thursday. “It’s not worth it. The high you get from doing something like this is never going to sustain you and it’s never going to last.”

Lent said she and Rouch both regret what they did, and Lent said she is taking steps to deal with the problems in her life that led her to shoplift.

Rouch was unable to be reached by The Red & Black Thursday for comment.
