No. 3 UGA Closes Out Fall Schedule This Weekend
Fresh off its win over No. 1 Auburn, the third-ranked Georgia equestrian team closes out its fall schedule this weekend when it travels to Martin, Tenn., to take on UT-Martin and Delaware State. The meet versus Delaware State is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., on Friday, while the UT-Martin meet is slated to begin at 10 a.m., on Saturday.
“This will be an exciting meet for us as we close out the fall schedule,” head coach Meghan Boenig said. “It is also Amelia Rogers last meet as a member of the team, as she is graduating in December. We are really excited that she will be competing for us because she has shown tremendous leadership throughout her career.”
Georgia enters the meet with a 5-1 record, with each win coming against a ranked opponent. UT-Martin and Delaware State are still looking for their first wins of the season.
The Bulldogs faced both opponents last season, earning decisive victories over both. UGA handed UT-Martin a 14-0 loss on Feb. 27 before defeating Delaware State 10-6 on March 5. Georgia picked up seven of the eight MVP honors between the two events.
“Our team has been working really hard to learn two new tests,” continued Boenig. “It has been a really busy November and I think the team has handled that well. I have no doubt that this team will rise to the challenges of the upcoming weekend and continue to improve as they have week after week.”
In last week’s 10-8 win over Auburn, the Bulldogs took home all four MVP honors as Carly Anthony swept the hunt seat side with scores of 88 and 86 in equitation over fences and equitation on the flat, respectively. Megan Hawkins scored a MVP ride of 78 in horsemanship, while McKenzie Lantz earned the honor with a ride of 70.5 in reining.
Michelle Morris, Olivia Dorey, Becca Haaland, Kelly Truesdell and Samantha Belcher also scored winning rides for Georgia.

Trott won the 500 freestyle in 4:47.07 and the 1,000 freestyle in 9:38.88. She has the nation’s top times in each event this season. Harrington won the butterfly in 2:02.41 and came in fifth in the 50 freestyle in 23.47. She also swam the butterfly leg of the 200 medley relay that came in third in 1:43.37.
